Cable-stayed bridge

Full locked coil ropes for the stay ropes of the Schorgast Road Bridge.

Six V-shaped pylons and 60 stay ropes, all on the inside of the curve: a viaduct that does not twist.

The viaduct is part of an important east-west route in the region and relieves traffic in the neighbouring villages. Six V-shaped pylons, each with ten stay ropes on the inside of the curve, carry the 426-metre bridge up to ten metres above the valley. The composite deck girder is suspended in a torsionally stiff way, so it does not twist in the curve and transfers loads reliably. All 60 stay ropes were supplied by FATZER. The road bridge was nominated for the German engineering award.

  • Year of construction 2020
