The ropeways were designed to carry loads of up to 40 and 30 tonnes respectively, providing an environmentally friendly and efficient means of transporting construction materials such as concrete and steel, as well as equipment and vehicles, to the dam construction site at an altitude of 2,400 metres above sea level. At the time, these aerial tramways ranked among the largest in the world. Their exceptional payload capacity and the challenging topography made them particularly impressive in scale. For personnel transport, each ropeway was equipped with a 40-passenger cabin. The 90-millimetre track ropes were the largest-diameter track ropes ever manufactured by FATZER. The installation has since been dismantled.
