New Funicular Railway

Steel wire rope for a funicular railway running through the heart of the mountain.

The underground funicular runs through a tunnel inside the mountain and operates all year round.

Directly connecting the village centre with the popular family destination of Sunnegga, the funicular has a maximum capacity of 200 passengers and overcomes a vertical difference of more than 1,000 metres. Compared with its predecessor from the 1980s, passenger comfort has been significantly enhanced thanks to a suspended bogie, sound-insulated interior, LED lighting and more spacious cabins.
