The gondola lift provides access to the summit of Huashan near Xi’an, one of China’s five sacred mountains.
Several million people visit the destination every year to take in the views of its sheer white granite cliffs and deep gorges. At just over four kilometres long, the gondola lift replaces a challenging hike of several hours via steep stone steps carved directly into the rock, a route considered extremely dangerous.
