New 3S gondola lift

Wire ropes for one of the world's most spectacular 3S ropeways

The nearly eight-kilometre-long tricable gondola connects the holiday islands of Phú Quốc and Hòn Thơm in southern Vietnam and is considered the longest ropeway of its kind in the world.

The route spans the sea, with towers reaching heights of up to 164 metres, built on the islands between the two terminals. For FATZER, the project also set a record in terms of weight: each track rope, including the reel, weighed 179 tonnes. Transporting them to the site required a special 14-axle heavy-duty truck.
