Located directly beside the Mer de Glace, France’s largest glacier, the TC Mer de Glace offers spectacular access to one of the most iconic alpine landscapes in the Mont Blanc massif.
In winter, it becomes a popular route for ski touring. The gondola lift provides the connection between the glacier and the Montenvers area. The TC Mer de Glace replaces a previous circulating gondola whose location had become less suitable following the glacier's retreat. In just three minutes, the new installation covers a distance of 581 metres and an elevation difference of 200 metres. The route is characterized by steep rock faces and spectacular views of the 4,000-metre peaks of the Mont Blanc massif.
