A key feature of the high-performance rope COMPACTA is the increased metallic cross-section of its compacted strands, resulting in a reduced rope diameter, higher breaking load and extended service life. The flattened contours of the outer wires also reduce surface pressure in grips and sheave assemblies. In addition, the larger contact area between strands helps to lower stress concentrations when strand contact occurs.
Applications
The rope offers excellent diameter stability and resistance to twisting and torsional loads. Its smooth outer surface enhances traction with drive components, making it an ideal choice for chairlifts, gondola lifts and aerial tramways.
