More performance. Less wear.
A key feature of the high-performance rope COMPACTA is the increased metallic cross-section of its compacted strands, resulting in a reduced rope diameter, higher breaking load and extended service life. The flattened contours of the outer wires also reduce surface pressure in grips and sheave assemblies. In addition, the larger contact area between strands helps to lower stress concentrations when strand contact occurs.
Applications
The rope provides excellent diameter stability and high resistance to torsional loads and twisting forces, while its smooth surface enhances traction with drive sheaves. It is ideally suited for chairlifts, gondola lifts and aerial tramways.
- Robust all-rounder for all ropeway systems
- Extended service life at low acquisition costs
- Higher breaking load at a given rope diameter, or a reduced rope diameter at the same breaking load
- Reduced wear on sheaves, grips, drive sheaves and return sheaves
- Enhanced torsional and lateral pressure stability
- Improved damping of rope vibrations and oscillations
- Increased fatigue resistance thanks to lower internal strand stresses
